Water is an excellent base for exercise, providing an anti-stress environment
for movement. Gentle water exercises use the water's resistance to build
muscle strength and flexibility. Water exercise can benefit people who find
weight bearing exercise difficult (or painful) on dry land.
The warmth of the pool causes muscle relaxation and therefore reduces pain
during exercise. The buoyancy of the water supports the body, reducing the load
through the joints. This makes it easier and more comfortable than exercising
on land and provides support when walking.
The benefits of Hydrotherapy are enormous especially for back pain, neck
pain, and rehabilitation after surgery.
